Jerry Friesen has been a race director for 20+ years and has been involved in organizing over one hundred races. He is currently the Series Director of the Subaru Niagara Running Series as well as the Operations Director of the Subaru Triathlon Series. Jerry’s race organizing experience includes Ironman North America events in California, Wisconsin, Penticton, Lake Placid and Florida. He has also assisted at the Chicago and Miami marathons.

Jerry Friesen’s athletic background dates back to his youth when he competed in track and field, cross- country, football and boxing. Jerry a former Canadian National Boxing Team member has been running for over 30 years. He has run in over three hundred and fifty running races a few triathlons and has completed over seventy marathons including Boston, New York and Chicago. His personal bests include a 2:44:10 marathon a 34:20 -10k and a 16:38- 5k.

A Registered Recreation Facilities Administrator Jerry gained extensive experience in special event organization working for the Town of Grimsby’s Recreation and Parks department. After twenty-one years he left the Town of Grimsby in 2001 to work full time as a race organizer at In Stride Productions, the company he formed in 1999.

Jerry has been married to his wife Jody for twenty one years and has three children, Lindsay, Rachel, and Brett.
